Ling Kwan Leung

Ling Kwan Leung is a Hong Kong composer and PhD candidate at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. He studied under composers such as Chen Yi, Zhou Long, Yotam Haber, and PaulRudy. He has served as a teaching assistant in the composition department, director of an Improvisational Music/Media Performance (IMP) ensemble, and adjunct instructor at the University of Central Missouri.

His works move fluidly between inherited tradition and contemporary soundscapes, weaving together instrumental composition, electronics, and cross-media practice in pursuit of vibrations and dialogue across a myriad of cultural contexts. A defining expression of this vision is the cross-disciplinary fashion project “Song · Sound · Stitch” that premiered at CENTRESTAGE in 2023. Bringing together the guanzi, electronic music, fashion, and scenic design, this work invites sound to flow between body and space in a deeper exploration of sound and space as aesthetic experience.
